Simon is the person behind Ovation. Having spent more than 30 years in the foodservice sector, Simon brings an unparalleled level of experience, following stints with leading catering manufacturers, prominent design houses, service and installation providers and even as an operator – originally training as a chef in his early career.

Passionate, highly skilled and with a great understanding of the foodservice industry, Simon offers a high level of professionalism and significant experience to Ovation Commercial Kitchens customers.

Adam Carter

Managing Director

Adam joined the catering equipment industry on a graduate scheme after earning a Business Management degree from the University of Sheffield. Almost 20 years and several senior distribution roles later, he knows every side of the market, from equipment supply and service to working alongside operators. He puts the customer at the heart of everything, with a meticulous eye for the details that make a kitchen work. As Managing Director, Adam leads Ovation’s next stage of growth, building on its reputation for quality and craftsmanship. Outside work, he enjoys time with his wife, their two children and the family dog, Griff.

Charmaine Meadows

Estimating and Purchasing Manager

Charmaine is Ovation Kitchens’ Estimating and Purchasing Manager. With a background in administration and experience as cabin crew for British Airways, she brings strong attention to detail, clear communication, and solid organisational skills to the role. Charmaine handles estimates, purchasing, and supplier coordination with efficiency and care. Her adaptable, customer-focused approach supports both the team and clients, helping things run smoothly behind the scenes.

Neil Ambrose

Head of Design

Neil began his career in 1999 as a sheet metal engineer and welder, dedicating over a decade to stainless steel manufacturing before transitioning into design. With more than 20 years of experience in CAD, Revit certification, and international exposure in Dubai, he applies a fabricator’s insight to every kitchen project he undertakes. Beyond his professional work, he enjoys football, cooking, fitness, and cherishing family life in Liverpool with his wife and two daughters.​

Angela Tappendem

Accounts and Customer Service

Angela brings a strong background in customer relations, working at Vodafone for over 10 years she combines excellent communication skills with a professional and organised approach. Throughout her career, she has developed extensive experience in building positive customer relationships, managing accounts, and ensuring effective and timely processes.

With a customer-focused mindset, Angela is committed to providing a high standard of service while maintaining strong attention to detail and commercial awareness. Her approachable nature and ability to handle queries and resolve issues effectively make her a valued member of the team.

Angela’s experience enables her to balance customer care with the practical requirements of account management and credit control, helping to support both clients and the wider business. Hobbies include playing the piano and badminton and spending time with her two girls, husband and dog Lola.
